It’s spooky season! Halloween might just be one of our favorite holidays – it’s a great excuse to have friends over, bring out the fun appetizers, and plan a bumper movie night. If you’re hosting, we’re here to help with some fun ideas for a frightfully good night…
Don’t leave your movie selection to the last minute. There are loads of great Halloween movies, whether you want something spooky, scary or family-friendly – and we guarantee they’re all even more enjoyable when viewed on one of our TV lift cabinets!
If you’re a real movie buff, Halloween is the perfect time to stream or download a series. Need some inspiration? We reckon the Harry Potter movies are especially enjoyable at this time of year. Hocus Pocus and Hocus Pocus 2 are great for family movie nights. And for adults, Nightmare on Elm Street is a classic that’s hard to beat.
This list of Halloween movies is a great source of inspiration if you need even more ideas or want to put it to a family vote. Once you’ve decided what you want to screen, save those titles to your favorites list on Netflix or download to your TV so they’re easy to find later. All you need to do when night falls is raise your TV from your indoor TV lift cabinet and hit play!
Part of the fun of Halloween comes from the décor. Even if you don’t want to cover your front yard in skeletons and cobwebs, there’re still plenty of ways to celebrate the season. Try Target for some fun, low-cost holiday items like ceramic pumpkins, a spooky door mat, and Halloween-themed decals which you can then reuse next year. Add a finishing touch by blowing up balloons in shades of black and orange, and lighting lots of candles for atmospheric lighting.
You can find party decorations, napkins and disposable plates with Halloween designs easily online.
Pick a pumpkin … or two!
It wouldn’t be Halloween without pumpkin picking. After everyone’s selected theirs, cover your kitchen table with newspaper and get carving! You can download templates for your pumpkin if you aren’t especially artistic and there are lots of tips for creative carving here.
Nothing makes a holiday feel a bit more special than a themed menu and Halloween especially is a great excuse to go all out and have fun with your apps and deserts. It’s also easier than you might think to create some fun Halloween treats – pipe ghostly shapes onto brownies or add candy eyes to biscuits. For the kids, create mummified hot dogs by winding strips of pastry around hot dog sausages and then squirt with ketchup.
